This tool re-encodes each image locally in your browser via the Canvas API, which discards EXIF, XMP, ICC/IPTC, C2PA (JUMBF) and PNG text chunks in the process. No file is uploaded to any server at any point.

Metadata detection is best-effort and meant for visibility, not a compliance guarantee. Some platforms re-embed their own metadata on upload (e.g. a new C2PA manifest) regardless of what you send them — check the destination platform’s own policy if that matters for your use case.

Re-encoding a JPEG is lossy at the pixel level (high quality, but not bit-identical); PNG and WebP output preserve pixels exactly.
